With changing family structure and interaction patterns, inappropriate parenting styles, the frequency of mental and behavioural issues among children and adolescents has increased. Unlike adults and adolescents, small children face difficulty to use enough language to express their mental distress which is redirected through undesirable behaviours. Abusing substance due to peer-pressure, romantic relationship issues, career choices, conflicts with family members are major concerns which characterize emotional and behavioural disorders among adolescents. Externalizing (disruptive) and internalizing (anxiety, depression) can be present among both the groups.
